Verify the Document,
Not Just the Data.
French government documents carry built-in cryptographic proofs. Holofin reads them: 2D-Doc seals decoded and verified against the official issuing authorities, sealed values compared with the extracted data, MRZ zones cross-checked on every identity document.
Schedule DemoA Perfect Forgery
Extracts Perfectly.
The better a fake document looks, the cleaner its data extracts. But government-issued documents carry proofs most pipelines never read: seals signed by the issuing authority, and machine-readable zones built for cross-checking.
One Square of Pixels.
The Whole Document, Signed.
A 2D-Doc is not a link to look up. The Data Matrix itself carries the document's key data, signed by the issuing authority. Holofin decodes all three zones and reads back exactly what the state certified.
The Data Matrix printed on avis d'imposition, invoices, payslips and the 2021 identity card.

Because the values themselves are inside the seal, verification does not stop at “the barcode is genuine”. Holofin knows what the barcode says, and can hold the document to it.
Proofs the State Put There.
Read on Every Document.
Seal decoded
The 2D-Doc Data Matrix is decoded back into what the issuer signed: names, amounts, dates and references. The document's own facts, exactly as the authority recorded them.
Signature verified
The seal's ECDSA signature is verified against the official issuing authorities on the ANTS trust list, a mathematical proof that the sealed data was not altered since the state signed it.
Sealed values cross-checked
Every signed value is compared with the data extracted from the document itself, and MRZ zones on identity documents are validated for internal consistency. A photoshopped amount fails this comparison even when the untouched seal still verifies.
Findings, not raw flags
Results land as findings beside Holofin's forensic fraud signals. One review surface, one verdict.
Signature Checked.
Values Compared.
Most document fraud never touches the barcode: the printed numbers are edited and the seal is left intact. Still scannable, still cryptographically valid, still carrying the original values. So Holofin does both checks: it verifies the signature, then compares every sealed value with the data extracted from the page.
Untouched document
The signature verifies and every sealed value matches the extracted data. Cleared with proof, not with a guess.
Photoshopped income
The seal itself is genuine. Only the printed amount was edited. A signature check alone clears this document; comparing sealed values with extracted data catches it.
Fabricated seal
The barcode was regenerated to match the edited numbers, but no official authority signed it, so the ECDSA check fails against the ANTS trust list.
Documents That Carry Proof.
Avis d'imposition
2D-Doc seal signed by the tax authority: income, parts, declarants.
2D-DocUtility bills & proofs of address
2D-Doc seals from energy and telecom issuers: name and address as billed.
2D-DocPayslips
2D-Doc seals on payslips from equipped issuers: employee, employer, net pay.
2D-DocIdentity cards
MRZ cross-checks; 2D-Doc seal covering the identity on the 2021 format.
MRZ2D-DocTitres de séjour
MRZ validation on residence permits.
MRZPassports
Full MRZ validation.
MRZDriving licences
Format and identity-zone consistency checks.
FormatVehicle documents
2D-Doc seals on registration paperwork.
2D-DocAvis de situation déclarative
ASDIR statements carry the same DGFiP-signed 2D-Doc seal as the avis d'imposition.
2D-DocStronger Together With Fraud Detection.
Authenticity checks corroborate Holofin's 70 forensic detectors: a verified seal clears a document faster, a broken one turns suspicion into proof.
