Comparison
Holofin vs Rossum
Holofin and Rossum compared on French document coverage, fraud detection, case-level rules, EU hosting, pricing transparency, API, field coordinates and human review, from each vendor's public pages.
Written by Holofin. Our product is listed first; every competitor fact is sourced and dated. How we checked
Short answer
Rossum is an enterprise document automation platform whose centre of gravity is accounts payable: a validation screen for exceptions, custom workflows, duplicate detection, EU data residency by default, and pricing that starts at 18,000 USD per year. Holofin is a case-file platform for French lending and KYC: more than 50 French document types, forensic tampering detection on every PDF, 2D-Doc and MRZ verification, rules evaluated across the documents of a dossier, and per-page pricing from 0.05 EUR pay as you go, down to 0.02 EUR at volume. Choose Rossum if invoices and an ERP are the centre of the workflow; choose Holofin if the unit of work is a French applicant's file and the question is whether it is complete, consistent and genuine.

Best for: Lenders, brokers and back offices that need every statement row right and tampering caught.
Holofin extracts bank statements page by page and checks each one against its balances, so a statement comes back fully right or flagged for review. In our public benchmark, 43 of 44 statements from different European banks had zero errors. It also runs 70 forensic detectors on every PDF and checks rules across a whole case file.
Human review, self-hosting and EU data residency terms sit on custom plans, and ISO 27001 certification is still in progress.

How we scored this
Every cell comes from the vendor's own public website or documentation, read on the date shown next to each vendor. We do not use trials, demos, analyst reports or third-party reviews. A criterion is Yes when the public pages state it, Partial when it is stated with a limitation (a plan tier, a region option, a generic claim, a certification in progress), No when the pages say so or state the opposite, and Unknown when we found nothing either way. Unknown is not a mark against a vendor; it means we could not verify it and did not guess.
Holofin is our product. It is listed first and marked as ours, and its row follows the same rule, from its own public pages, even where we know more about the product. Its accuracy figures come from our public benchmark, where only Holofin and three frontier models were measured. The other tools are listed alphabetically within each kind of tool. We re-check every row at least every six months and the updated date only moves when a row changes.

Frequently asked questions
Is Holofin a Rossum alternative?
For French lending, brokerage and KYC case files, yes. For accounts-payable automation with ERP connectors and invoice approval, Rossum is the better fit and Holofin does not compete there.
Which one is hosted in the EU?
Rossum's default data centre is AWS Frankfurt with backup in Ireland. Holofin's trust center says all documents are processed and stored in EU data centres, and its pricing page lists contractual EU data residency on custom plans.
Which one publishes pricing?
Holofin publishes per-page pricing from 0.05 EUR pay as you go, down to 0.02 EUR at volume, with free trial credits. Rossum states a starting price of 18,000 USD per year and asks you to contact sales.
Which one detects document fraud?
Holofin runs 70 forensic detectors on every PDF and verifies 2D-Doc seals and MRZ checksums. Rossum offers duplicate detection across channels and describes fraud checks against historical data in a blog post; we found no product specification.
How do I get a row corrected?
Write to [email protected] with the vendor page that contradicts the cell. We correct the row, note the change and move the updated date.
Bank statements you can lend on.
Send Holofin your own statements: every row reconciled, every PDF checked for tampering, every value linked to the page it came from.
From 0.05 EUR per page pay as you go, down to 0.02 EUR at volume: about 0.04 EUR per statement, fraud checks included, below every statement-specific API in our cost table. Free trial credits, no credit card required.
